Yellow Bird Company is committed to making theyellowbirdcompany.com accessible to all users, including people who use assistive technology.

Our standard

This site targets WCAG 2.1 Level AA conformance. That means:

  • All text and interactive elements meet a minimum 4.5:1 contrast ratio against their background. Color pairs were selected and verified at design time against the WCAG contrast algorithm.
  • All images have descriptive alt text.
  • All interactive elements (links, buttons, form fields) are reachable by keyboard and have visible focus indicators.
  • Headings are structured in logical order (H1, H2, H3) so screen readers can navigate by heading.
  • Form inputs have associated labels.
  • The site renders correctly without JavaScript for core content (navigation, contact email, services).
  • Animations respect the prefers-reduced-motion system setting. If reduced motion is enabled, all transitions and fade effects are disabled.

How we tested

This site was built against the WCAG 2.1 AA checklist as part of the design system spec. Pre-launch, we ran Lighthouse and axe automated accessibility audits and corrected all flagged violations. We also tested keyboard navigation manually on Chrome on macOS.

None identified at launch.
